Decided to try the White Horse at Upton on Tues eve, was moored up ready to load the car and depart the following morning, so we had to drive, had heard good things about this place but nothing recently, we didn't feel we would need to book for a Tuesday (big mistake) the place was rammed they fitted us in outside, the food was good and service excellent, we shall be using them again...

We've been four times this year, three times by boat and once by car. It's only a 20 minute car ride  Smile  It's an amazing place. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Good food, very friendly staff, value for money.

But please don't tell anyone else about it!!!

Don't worry he's hidden it in the fishing section, till Steve finds it that is Smile

Agree it is a hidden gem though.

Just because The BA make a request, don't automatically assume they have the powers to make such requests!! Keeping a careful eye on an Authority which is making it's own rules.

Can we walk there from Acle Bridge moorings? Don't fancy negotiating Upton dyke to find we can't moor there anyway!

Regards, Ray.

Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

Yes, you can. See attached pic.

I can't give any report on the state of the paths, but on the three recent occasions we have moored at the parish staithe, there were walkers who had obviously come from, or were going to Acle, via the river path.

Ta, Pally. We've obviously seen walkers by the river, but wasn't sure you could get to the village. I suppose if I'd used my noddle I could have worked out that I could follow the river, and then along the dyke!
So, a walk to the White Horse is on the cards next visit.  Smile

We moored at Upton this week; quite quiet and no probs mooring 35ft, and you might be able to moor at the river end anyway.

Walkers commented that the path is quite overgrown in places and shorts not a good idea! Fish pie at the pub was excellent.

Wasn't aware there was mooring at the river end?
