"I understand they are hoping to open next month in the old Ferry Marina chip shop premises on Ferry Road, Horning."

An interesting choice of location. I don't think the Ferry Inn will be enamoured by boaters mooring on their frontage and swanning off to Pedro's. They got upset about that behaviour when the chippy was there.

Pedros owners have 2 other restaurant's in the Lake District.
I cant see the old chippy being used again as The Marina wanted more office space hence they bought the old chippy off the former owner allowing him to still work there for a while until they pulled the plug.
We have heard the rumour also though so who knows?

Its not a rumour - it is definitely on the cards and due to open in a couple of weeks or so.

The chippy was run by the same guy who ran the cafe at the pool and when they filled in the pool - or boarded it over, he either gave up his lease or it was terminated by Len. Ferry always owned the property.

The bit where the pool was is still, or was when i last looked, occupied by Edward Williams the boat insurance people. The bit leftover was a social room for the marina users but not used a great deal.

A bit of competition for the Ferry will perhaps incentivise them to up their own offering and not before time - if someone moors on his mooring and he gets a fee, it begs the question will he turn them off if they do not go into the pub but to Pedros?

Edited to confirm:

"Posted August 3

Ryan Mabb, who runs Pedro's Restaurant at Acle and the new hire boat operation The Broads Boating Co. has announced  on Facebook that they are to expand and open a second Pedro's restaurant. It will be located at the former Chip Shop at Horning Ferry Marina.

They plan to refurbish the area and should be ready to open come the end of August, complete with heated deck area, cocktails and an introduction of breakfast and brunches."
There has been no change of use planning application with the broads authority according to BA website so I don't know how they can open in under 2 weeks though

Menu looks interesting but there's too much of it - surely it can't possibly all be cooked from fresh ingredients - whatever the price, who wants to eat restaurant food that's come out of the deep freeze?

I understand your point Socrates but I don't know of any restaurant that doesn't use deep freezes?

SB you must not go to the right restaurants, many restaurants cook from fresh, the point that was being made is that the menu is extensive therefore the ingrediants would need to be predominantly frozen as the waste buying and using fresh would not make for a sustainable business plan.

In general, restaurants that have loads of options on the menu use cater pack materials, restaurants that cook from fresh have a small menu.
