I went to the Ferry Inn at Horning last weekend for a carvery. Never again. Turkey at least 1/4 " thick.  cold vegetables and gravy. Had family with me or I would have complained then.

Hi Peter,
You should have complained only we went there the weekend before and had a very nice carvey, as with all carvey's I think you need to get there for 12.00hrs and no later than 13.30hrs otherwise its just sitting there and not nice and fresh.
If you do not tell them then they can not do much about it.  Wink

Kindest Regards Mike

Never quite sure why premises need to promote themselves through Groupon vouchers -  I prefer to eat in places that don't sell cut price food!

Anyone checked whether their hygiene rating improved?

Marshman,

It has improved, lets face it, it could hardly get worse. It is now rated as 2 out of 5, so a massive improvement of 1. It was last checked on the 28th April 2016, so I think I'll give that particular game of roulette a miss for a while longer until the owner takes hygiene a little more seriously

Happy to support the honest and reliable pubs and businesses of The Norfolk Broads.

Says it all - just what does it take for an owner to improve what is in effect, a pretty damning indictment of cleanliness!

But then why bother if you can fool most of the punters!!

Marshy, don't knock Groupon vouchers, it's not all cheap food, I was like you and "looked down my nose" at them but my Daughter and Son got us in to them. Often they are used by good restaurants to fill quiet periods (often there will be restriction on days and times they can be used)
We've eaten in some pretty classy places with them, just not at peak times.
As for the Ferry, never been a fan.

Food hygiene rating is two, it's spilt into three sections, noticeably it only got Poor in food hygiene and safety.  Now, we don know the kitchen areas and what the enforcement officer found but something must be wrong! I note that people say get to the venue at twelve to ensure quality.  I would expect that the food should only be served if it's fresh, sadly I hate the ferry inn.  I found the manager rude, the staff, don't k is if there the same, were rude and off hand.  I have not been for a good 18 months and can not see my self going any time soon,
