I heard recently  that new owners have or are going to take over the Lord Nelson at Reedham and possibly reopen the pub in April 2015, they certainly will have a lot of work to do. Does anyone have any news on this?

I was also very saddened to here that Bill (former landlord ) had died in September. He and his Ros had only retired in early August. RIP Bill.

OMG no!

Poor Bill, RIP.

His wife was the most helpful lady we'd ever met a couple of years ago, made us feel so welcome we even stayed 2 days.  That was before it completely ran down.

What a shame, lets hope if there are new people coming the can honour the previous lovely people.  The Lord Nelson deserves it.

Didn't know bill has died, this was taken not long before the pub closed. R.I.P Bill.

What a lovely photo, at least some of us have happy memories of Bill & Ros and their massive dog who's head filled the door of the bar! (Nelson) who's play friend was a st bernard!

Have been to the pub many times, only told a couple of weeks ago that it was closed and that Bill had passed away. We went in for a drink one afternoon and got talking about our little terrier - come and have a look at our little dog they said..... Evil Grin  The pub  may have been run down but they kept it as a "real" pub. Sad that he didn't get to enjoy his retirement. Good luck to whoever takes it on, I'm sure they can make a success of it.

RIP bill
The Nelson is one of our fave pubs, when we used to hire from whispering reeds, we would sometimes moor at horsey twice, because of the Nelson (and the seals too)

All the best to the new owners, provided we can get under potter heigham bridge, we will be calling in at easter
Yup, boat booked already (predictable? Us?)  Wink

The deal which flipperman correctly reported seems to have fallen through, and there is now a "To Let" sign up at the Lord Nelson.
