Just in case passers by are concerned that the goats at the Beauchamp Arms are no longer there, all is well.  They were it seems, getting rather lonely with noone to talk to and have gone to Reedham to join another pair for christmas together  Smile  They have a nice big paddock to run about in and even the Golden Galleon to climb over given half a chance Playful Wink

Seems like musical chairs is going on with our local pubs Carol has retired from the White Horse Chedgrave and a local couple has taken over. 'Lee & Steph' took over the King's head in Loddon yesterday (no food until Dec 2nd) and Sue as I understand it is/has moved the Surlingham Ferry House. So, that should be reopening shortly. Not sure about the Beauchamp arms being a bit more out of the way guess that might stay closed a bit longer.

That's sad news, whenever I stopped at Loddon it was always a tough decision whether to visit the Dilraj, a superb indian or The Kings Head, which recently had improved a lot under Sue's management, with some really good food, or to visit the White Horse, again another excellent pub with superb food. The other two pubs I can't remember the name of, never really stood out. Hopefully the new tenants will continue the high standards set by the previous tenants.

It would be nice to see Sue improve things at The Surlingham Ferry, however unless something is done to the quay heading there then I can't see myself stopping there. It would be a shame if Sue goes to the Ferry and becomes dis-illusioned with the place and moves away, but it looks like it needs some money spent on the place.

Any news on The Berney Arms?, is Chris still there? it was rumoured that there was trouble with that tenancy as well.

Well Keith, Sue moved in last weekend it seems so I would expect that to reopen very shortly and given she turned the King's Head round it will be interesting to see what happens.

I think some of the kitchen staff have stayed on at the White Horse. Oh dear three pubs to research such a lot of work for forum members just to keep the record up to date Evil Grin

Well Bill, I'd hate people to think I only use the forum for my own benefit, so I'll put myself out for you all this week-end and drag the boat over the river to the 'Ferry' to have a gander. Don't say I never do anything for you lot.

News is that the Beauchamp has re-opened with Peter (ex  Chedgrave White Horse) tempted out of retirement to pull pints. If they can tempt Carole to help him the food should be good.

Im not sure that Carol will be tempted but Peter has been helping out at a number of venues I think Smile
