During our Easter break we made a point of mooring here as we had heard such good reviews.  I have to say that the moorings are top notch, but sadly the food wasn't.  The most disappointing meal we have had for a very long time and one of the most expensive.  My daughter requested a plain burger with chips, how difficult could it be?  The burger came out with cheese salad and mayo.... it was immediately sent back, but instead of redoing the order they just scraped off the topping and bought it back!! In my opinon, not a good service !! Frown

We were there for lunch on Saturday. Food was excellent and the service as quick as one would want and by thoroughly pleasant people. Good well kept beer, great company what more could one possibly need or want.

So, am currently sat in the bridge inn, acle, about to consider having some food. Wasn't sure the NBF mooring waiver was still in place, as I thought I'd heard a year ago that this had been stopped. We had our £4 ready, but were told that it's ok, it's free for NBF members showing their signs. Yey. More money for booze.  Better get off here and go and spend it. Need to be back for the NBF 8Pm bar.... if it's still open ?

Oh no, just found out that my tablet pc or phone don't have flash player so I can't come to the NBF pub until I'm home next week.  Frown

Spent the afternoon & evening in The Bridge Inn Wed 3rd oct. Lovely pub and restaurant. General Managers Phil and Vanessa were very friendly. Didn't have a meal as we had allready eaten onboard. The meals looked exceptionally nice with extremely generouse portions. Couldnt resist a portion of chips and they tasted as good as  they looked.  The pub was very warm having a lovely open fire.  Here is a direct link to the Bridge Inn web site: http://norfolkbroadsinns.co.uk/acle-bridge-inn/ I was most impressed and have now provided a link from my website to The Bridge Inn web site.

Kind Regards
Alan...

An update for the Bridge Inn, Acle, for the 2014 season.

Overnight moorings are still free for NBF members. Just display your forum logo, (which you can print off, using the link ‘Make My Logo’ at the bottom of each forum page).

Otherwise, overnight mooring is £5 (Phil, you need to update your web site  Smile  ), refundable against a main meal in the pub. Electricity is still £4. The pub is child and dog friendly, but they must be kept on a lead (that goes for dogs as well Smile  ). Free wifi.

Moorings cannot usually be booked, but Phil keeps two mooring available for boats with a disabled crew member, which can be booked, if necessary, but there are plenty of moorings a short walk away, just the other side of the road bridge. In the height of the season (and at weekends) it’s worth ringing ahead and booking a table, as this is a very popular pub. Their web site is at http://norfolkbroadsinns.co.uk/acle-bridge-inn/

I have no connection with the pub, other than it is my favourite eatery on the Broads.

Having had lunch there last Friday, I can confirm that the food is still to a great standard. Very yummy!
Had one of those vegetarian types with me and she loved her meal too.

I hope to spend an evening there week after next during my solo cruise week.  Not planning on visiting many pubs but will visit The Bridge Inn
