Basically - we love the bridge Inn - it's one of the best
pubs on the broads and is a lovely mooring spot, its
great for the kids play area and the food has always been
good when we visit - back there on 6th August and again
in October - also lovely place on those special blue sky
norfolk broads evenings.

We were there last week and what can I say , there were ten of us, so no small party and we had a superb meal- sevice 10, food 10, atmosphere 10. Excellent, outstanding, and our friends from Romania loved it.

Phil also said that they would take mooring reservations from forum members. Not sure if all the staff know this one though.

Life is too short

Having lived in the area for 12 years and avoiding the Bridge Inn at Acle because of the poor reviews, I thought I'd give an update.

My wife and I went there for the first time for lunch last week. We were greeted by a roaring log fire and an equally warm welcome from Ness and the staff. They made us feel like we were old customers.

We chose from the 2 for £10.95 menu and were well satisfied. So much so, that we went back again today, to make sure it wasn't a 'one off'. Again, made to feel very welcome.

Once more, we chose from the '2 for' menu. What good value.

We have been rather disappointed with the offerings of some of the local pubs of late and have been searching round for somewhere to take our visiting guests during the summer. Although we'll be checking it out some more over the coming weeks, The Bridge at Acle is certainly top of our list at the moment.

That sounds like a lot better value than it has been recently. A meal at just over a fiver each is excelent value.

p.s.
I just read the menu and it is only Mon - Fri during the day (till 7.00), shame it couldn't be extended to the weekend when a good number of tourists are around. For the weekender it is still an expensive trip out.

Have I been to Trafalgar.....of course, had a lovely time sat on the steps and watched the lions....

found myself very unexpectedly with a hired boat from Richardons that does NOT provide for a Laptop-PC to recharge - no outlet 110/220 V. Are we in 2012 or ... ?
Also found myself on the rivers with this terrible weather end April where one even more loves to sit and check mail (YES, you don't go to the broads for that) or just watch a DVD you brought.
So THERE:
Turned in to the Bridge Inn moorings Acle Bridge.
- most helpfull and kind offering a side table with a power socket aside even on a busy sunday at lunchtime, cared about passwords etc. to finally get online access,
- always charming and caring service (over many hours with recharging the laptop for use on board),
- great choice and quality of food and drink,
- perfect mooring conditions (4 L overnight after 6 pm refunded against the food bill).
=> Hope the guys from that place read this and remember the grey haired chap from Germany, coming in Apr 29 to May 1 with his laptop under his arm in the afternoon ... thanks, chaps !  Smile

Loved this pub! Went there on our 2nd night on a cold, wet, windy day in Apr after hearing so much about it and what a warm and welcoming place!

1st off, it's great they offer free mooring for forum members who have logo displayed, great way to get alot of people in and show your appreciation! TY very much! x

It's such a lovely location! The grounds are lovely, so much for kids to do! Games, arcade, mini bikes, climbing area, etc So nice you can see your boat from the pub in most places! The pub itself is full of antiques, looks classy but homey and the staff were very welcoming and friendly! Very nice getting warm by the fire, my Zep dog really loved laying there 2!
The service was great, didn't have to wait long to get a drink, they were attentive and nice to have a little conversation with the bartenders! It was busy being a Sun but the service was not lacking. We were so impressed by the food and prices! I had a steak special which was perfectly done, loved every bite! Potato's and veg were perfect and fresh cooked! Hubby had the pork loin and was so happy with it! A good sized portion 2! Lovely sauces and he's still bugging me to try and make the mustard mash? I think it was? He still salivates thinking about it! Daughter was actually happy with her food also and she's impossible to please!? Had quite a few drinks there as we loved the ambiance so much! Very clean, very quaint, felt very at home there and they make you feel like it's your local, we'll deff be back!

TY for a lovely evening on such a dreary day and keep up the great work! I'd deff recommend this place to all who are lucky enough to be in the area!

PS.. our friend moored near the bridge and the traffic noise kept him up abit? We were abit further down on other side of pub and didn't hear it at all! Had a great sleep after a great night out! x

Just back from a weekend afloat, a wet/cold one but great all the same.

Spent Sunday afternoon/Evening at the Bridge Inn, as per usual we had a great time, food was top notch as was the welcome and the staff once again

Well done to all at the Bridge Inn
