I suppose the best acolade with regards to the Bridge Inn

look back to three years ago . . . . . .

We used to avoid the place like a hot plague.

The one common denominator??

Phill, Ness, and the team the have put together.

As SueW said earlier had a great meal.  Even better and a MUST for those who love breakfast is to go in and have one here.  Best ever value a ready supply of coffee and orange juice available.  freshly cooked and hot what more can you ask to set yourselves up for your 1st Wedding Anniverary

We moored at the Bridge last Tuesday, 8th September and were amazed when Phil recognised us... our only previous visit was on the 22nd September 2008!!! He even remembered I'd used the wi-fi then...

Together with the excellent selection of real ales, scrumptious food, free wi-fi and Phil and Vanessa's warm welcome it won't be so long before we return!

Eight of us had a great meal at the Bridge the Saturday evening before last. This was only my second visit in 3 years. Most of us had Fish and Chips, which were both humongous and delicious - served with mushy peas. Mrs O had the steak and ale pie, which she said was excellent and my brother in law had the seafood medley, which also got a very big "thumbs up". We ate in the round dining room, which had a very pleasant ambience that you don't find every day in pub restaurants, together with a good view of the river. The service was superb, so overall a well-earned 10 out of 10. The bridge will certainly be a fixture on our itinerary in future.

Regards

Steve

We also called there last week and had an excellent evening: Phil and the team have certainly turned the place from an "avoid entirely" to a "must go there" so far as we are concerned.

Visited there at the start of September for lunch as my eldest son had remembered their play area as his best bit of the previous trip. Excellent food and atmosphere, very friendly and lovely place to go.
Meal was however cut shorter than expected as a less then family friendly conversation between one of the younger bar staff and two male friends visiting her had got my son's attention and language used was not what I wanted him to hear and then ask me to explain.

Quick exit via the play area before a return to the boat!

Such a contrast now to 2 years ago when we stopped off for a meal, as it appeared as though the place was being run by kids!

Not sure how long Phil and Ness have been running the Bridge but they have done a great job with it. Lyns and I stopped there at the start of September during our weeks holiday and really love the place.

Hi All

We had a joint birthday party at The Bridge Inn last Friday night (10th Oct), Larry's 65th and my 61st! Their were 6 of us in 3 boats. Yes the mooring rings have seen their best but don't worry Phil did say that the work to redo the quayheading will start shortly (November??).

As for the meal and drinks they were great. The Steak & Kidney Suet Pie was absolutely fantastic, just couldn't move very quickly after having eaten it;p and Phil and Nessa's staff were realy great, thanks to Jo and her crew you did us proud.

John

Kind regards, John(Captain Joshie)& Jo, 'Rosie L'Ondine' L799.

Had a meal there last Friday,(Nov 6) after a week on the river. Excellent fayre, all our party were pleased. However I did feel that the sweets were a bit overpriced, but that seems to be the policy in a lot a places thesedays.
