Family & friends had lunch at the Bridge Inn today. Very busy but service speedy and food was plentiful & good. Upstream of the bridge was completely iced over and looked reasonably thick. A good walk to and from the pub completed a good day out!! Cheers Smile

The food at Acle on Sunday 24/4/11 was fantastic. Phill and his staff couldn't do enough for us recommend to anyone probably best food on the broads. Our guests on board said it was there favourite pub. Lasagne, rack of ribs, garlic chicken and chicken tika masala curry all great.

Our saga lout tour took in Acle bridge this year after a vey disappointiong time at Thurne last year. Full of praise I must say. Food pre-ordered for a large group of 24, it all ran like clockwork through well organised and well trained staff, and all courses were well received. Steak cooked just how I asked for is a treat to find. Great ale too brought to the table and ordering and paying by boat welcomed.

Good stuff Acle Bridge!

Pate was £5. Doesn't seem out of the way nowadays for a starter!

We squeezed ourselves into the mooring quite late on Sunday afternoon and retired to the beer garden with a pint (cider) and a large white wine, we had a lovely sit and relax and a play with the hounds who were in the garden. We booked a table for 20:30 and returned to the boat for more relaxing.....
We went back to the pub at 19:30 and had some more pints and more wines all of which were lovely, we started a tab and all drinks and food was on the one bill (so convenient)and ordered our meal (combo platter to share, and steak and ale pie for me and lasagne for Fiona)

EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC....

The ambiance was lovely, staff great, food perfect (I mean perfect) in fact it was a lovely evening and made even nicer by the friendly staff and prompt service with a smile!

Cost wise it was great too and the biggest surprise was how low the bill was.. Add in the mooring fee we didnt pay (as forum members)and it just gets better and better.

Well done everyone it was really a pleasant evening

So much so we will be back next week with the children..

We even had entertainment- a boat completely across the river for at least 20 minutes (we have video)and another oxygen thief / darwin award winner hanging onto the bridge as their boat passed under then unsurprisingly missing the stern when he dropped back down. He survived and went on his merry way after some help from the guys outside the stores.

Thanks for the update on how good this pub is.

Good to see.

We have a date with destiny on Sunday 10th July, and we are really looking forward to it.

OK slight glitch, we may have uploaded the wrong video that was in fact the last trip but one and was of a duck deciding if she wanted to enter the cockpit of the boat...Eldest is uploading the correct one and a linky thing will be on here soon.
