hi all, drove from northampton to acle today with my wife, mum & dad for a meal at the bridge inn, nessa remembered us from august last year and as always we were not disappointed with the food, drink or service, we are cruising in september and will definitely visit then, but i think we will get back again before then, if you hav'nt tried this place you dont know what you missing out on

Oh now am jelous lol is only a roughly with eating and driving a 17 hour round trip for a meal there lol. Seriously thou The Bridge Inn was my start n finnish for may years when Alan Johnson ran the yard across from the Pub. In those days..for the money did a brill Chicken in the Basket n chips... oooh that will take sum of you lot back a bit....Roya be too young to remember am sure! lol

HI Broadscot You're going back a bit there. I think Alan Johnson boats finished in 1992 Craig or Dan may well know different.But I'm pretty sure 1992 was their last year. Dave

Blimey Scot,my first ever pint in the Maltsters cost under a shilling, gulp 20 odd pints for under a pound in them days not that i could drink that many. Fish and chips was one and threepence. Thats one shilling and three d to you youngsters, pennies were marked by D. 1/3d

My wifes first boat with her father from AJs was Sharmaine in 1972. My own first was Sheba in 1978, I Swopped starts between there and Loddon at Astons for more years than I can remember (came 3 times a year) As for that young boy Roya, I use to get 4 Black Jacks for a penny thats 1d NOT 1p so am as young nearlly as he is Blimey!
