Dear Skipper of the mightly Lapwing,

you forgot to mention that the "token yank" (or is that the Karaoke Queen) was too afraid to come out of the cabin during the tirade for fear of her life!

cheers! Nita

Karen,

No problem with the name spelling.  I usually end up as "Anita" or "Juanita", or just "hey you".

I'll take most forms well.

cheers, nita

Ciao, Nita

btw, I forgot to mention that we went past the place on our way back north some four days later.

Every 20 feet between the arms and the windmill have been posted large pink signs stating, "moorings strictly for pub customers only".

Bonnie got in touch with the BA, who were very apologetic concerning the incident. She asked who owned the moorings in question, but they were unsure, but didn't think the windmill moorings were owned by the pub.

They did say however that our phone call was not the first that they had received about this place, and that they would be sending out a Ranger.

I believe that the moorings slightly up stream and in front of the windmill are not part of that "gentlemans" territory but are the R.S.P.B.s or similar organisation and mooring there is free of charge.

Richard, I hope the incident didn't spoil your holiday.  That sort of thing can leave a nasty taste for some time.

Does anyone know if the Berney Arms has been taken over recently?  Without wishing to generalise, it sounds like the actions of someone who has moved in hoping to make a profit out of holidaymakers, and has no understanding of or interest in the traditions of the area.  If so, the sooner they realise their mistake and b****r off themselves, the better.

Horrified to hear about your experience..

Drifting slightly from the initial theme, is it true that the Berney Arms can only be reached and not by road.

Probably me mishearing again...

regards

Jim

No the freehold of the Berney Armsm has not changed hands. Confess to being a bit perlexed because I thought they did all day coffee and buns to earn an honest bob out of those who were doing exactly what Richard and Bonnie were doing. If invited inside just to let 'the tide turn' at Reedham who would refuse?

Jim not sure about the hearing but the text seems to have gone missing can be reached by rail or foot if that was what you were asking.

For the benefit of he who thought I was up 24hrs a day, now having a lite bite a pint and off to bed. Nighty night all. (as at time of editing)
