  Hi Guys,

I have been browsing the site for a good 6 to 9 months on a regular basis and have often felt I wanted to reply but never had the guts to take the plunge.   Too late now!!

As a bit of background, I have had my own boat on the broads for six years now ( dont tell the wife as she thinks its hers! ) but have been coming up since 1986.  I moved up from Bristol 2 years ago, but used to come up every weekend and clocked up 36,000 miles the year before moving up.

I hope to add my two penneth to the site and become involved a little but please bear with me as my IT skills are pretty limited.

Cheers for now.

Welcome BTP. I live near Bristol, so I have some understanding of what it must have been like when you had to 'commute' from there! Alas, I'm only able to visit once or twice a year, but the journey's always a bit of a slog. Any tips on the best route from the Bristol part of the world?

  Simon,

I lived Chipping Sodbury way and I found the best and quickest route was to go via Tetbury, Cirencester, oxford, up the A34 to Bicester then cut accross to Buckingham, Milton Keys, Bedford, Cambridge mainly using A421 and A428 and A14 then A11.  Something like that anyway!  If you want the exact route pm me.

Cheers,

Andy

  Steve,

Yes indeed, lets see how long it takes people.  Somehow I think my cover may be blown by the end of the day!

  Hi Andy
Sorry I have been a bit late finding this thread but I have been away all week and then as you know could not wait to get back to the boat this weekend. You seem to have already posted more than I have. Have a great holiday in the sun. Incidently Smurf says the boat is definitely hers.
Have a good one
Charlie
