We are returning to the broads on 26th April for a week after many years away & can't wait
We had a six or seven family holidays on the broads in the late 80s/early 90s and loved it. We brought our 82 year old mother back last year for a week in a cottage it brought back so many happy memories that we decided to bring her back this year for a week on the broads on Bridgecraft's Forth Bridge 1 and are counting the days
Been watching The Captain's Blog videos on YouTube and it's brought it all back
Just wanted to say hello

David hello and welcome,
Me and the Missus are on the broads for a week starting April 25 on Quartz Emblem from Horning. Keep your eye out and give us a wave.
Have a great one.

Welcome to NBF , and glad to hear that you are making a come back!
You will probably notice that a lot of things have changed, like River Inspectors are now Wardens , and short break hires have become popular, alongside the standard weekly one's!
But the rivers and Broads are still here , and just as captivating , so enjoy!

Hi and welcome,David. Kathy also has mobility problems. We use a cheap plastic single caravan step for getting about on board and a pricier alloy tube two stepper for bank access. Beware of the feet sinking into soft banks. If all else fails sit on the sidedeck and swivel - sometimes means a wet bum but its all part of the fun! Tie a bit of rope to the step to aid getting it back on board and don't leave it behind (been there, done that)

Thank you all for the warm welcome
And thanks for the advice on the access for mam.
She's quite mobile for her age but by her own admission is not as young as she was last time.
We have got one of the folding steps to bring but the two step one sounds like a good idea. Just depends on space in the car
Mind you she says she would be quite content to stay on the boat and watch the world go by
Can't fault her for that
