  Hi boatgirl

I would personally opt for hiring two boats as not a lot of space and storage for a party of 10 on a boat.

If budget is not an issue, on The Northern Broads based at Wroxham Faircraft Loynes have a few boats available for early December but none are ten berth.
Heres a link

I'm sure Freedom boats will be far less expensive and you could still hire 2 boats if you chose to. Smile

Kind Regards

Elsewhere, in another place, on a similar thread, Freedom have confirmed they no longer hire in December and January and that leaves only NBD doing some limited hiring.

If you did hire 2 boats , The Broads Boating Company at Acle do seem to be hiring in December and January. The biggest cruiser they have is an 8 berth.

However nice and lovely it may sound, there are some downsides - most yards and even marinas will disconnect the water hoses and ice can be a real problem.

Ranworth can freeze over up to the dyke or up it, S Walsham to well up Fleet Dyke and much north of Barton can be an issue - and believe me , it does not take much ice to stop movement. A 1/4 inch sounds nothing but that will stop you most times.

However Christmas of late has generally been OK but build issues into the plan - personally I would rather be in a riverside cottage with access to a day boat with warm air heating!!  Smile
