Topic: Starting mid-week?

sierramikehotel    -- Feb-18-2017 @ 9:22 AM
Hello all, I hope your combined wisdom can help us.

My fiancee and I are hoping to hire a boat for three nights in May, but with the way our other plans fall we'd like to start midweek - ie Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.

Looking at various websites, it seems that all hires start on a Saturday.

Are there any boatyards that allow a mid-week start?  Surely there are boats that go out on a Saturday for three or four nights that we could then pick up on the Wednesday.

Ideally we'd like to book through Hoseasons to get a discount from Tesco Clubcard vouchers but we're more than willing to speak to a boatyard directly if that's how it has to be done.

Thanks for any advice.

  Hi,

The usual for short breaks are Friday Start or Monday start. 3 nights Friday, Sat, Sun.  or 4 nights Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs.

I have found depending on the dates that a 3 night hire which includes the weekend is the same price as a 4 night hire mid week.

Kind Regards
Alan...

Give Richardson's a call.  Provided you are away from the bank holiday weeks at the start and end of May they will probably be flexible about things.  But you need to ask, websites can only give genral/easy information.

SMH  -  another yard to call would be Martham Boats

www.marthamboats.com   01493 740249

I know that they are very happy to hire for whatever days you would like  -  especially when it's outside the 'peak' times.  From there, you could have a fabulous three days enjoying the relatively remote beauty of the Upper Thurne, including Horsey and Hickling, possibly walking to the beach from Horsey to see the seals  -  there would probably be dozens there in May.

I see that Herbert Woods have some limited availability on different days.  I tried as an example Wednesday May 3rd for 3 nights. Click Here to go to results
