  Hi Folks

we are looking for an Alphacarft or Aquafibre centre cockpit anything from 32ft upwards, I have been on the usual broker websites and can see what is available but just wondered if anybody had heard of anything on the grapevine that might be coming available soon, we live in Cumbria and will be staying in the wroxham area next Sunday to Thursday (15th - 19th March).Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi John

The advice often given on this forum to prospective buyers is to do the rounds in person of the boat yards and brokers. You will often find boats for sale that are not even advertised yet.

When we were looking to change, Chris Cooper at NYA Horning  knew that a boat was coming up for sale and we subsequently bought Chiltern Lady without her being advertised.

So as you plan to visit next week get yourselves a plan together to visit as many yards as possible, bearing in mind you can travel the length and breadth of the Broads (not a National Park) by car easily.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

  I echo that advice, wholeheartedly.

And we too had the "heads up" from NYA about a boat that was coming in, after having a mosey around on one particular weekend. As it turned out it wasn't quite right for us so we haven't upgraded yet, but it was good to know in advance and go take a look, especially as we are 3 and a half hours away.

Good luck with your search, and don't forget to look at other boating locations beyond The Broads. We bought our first boat from Windsor, initially by doing a google search for the type and style of boat we were after.

Enjoy the fun of looking, Karen

Might be stating the obvious, but, have you seen the advert on this very thread??

Just an update to the thread, we managed to get sorted thanks, we ended up buying an Alphacraft 34 from Waterside and we have a mooring at Broadsedge. We took advice given and trolled the marinas....Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the update John, always good to hear a happy outcome. Nice looking boat by the way! Let's hope it's not too long before we can get back to using our pride and joys.
