Apologies to those who haven't even had their summer break yet, but I'm looking for any Broads hire co's that operate over the Christmas and New Year period. Hoping that forum members can help me out.

The only yard I'm aware of that will do hire over this period would be Faircraft Loynes. They have a limited selection available over the winter. Good luck!

Maycraft indicate that they might from their price list although I think they only have Hamptom Safari's. Not that that is a bad thing of course. Good winter boat for a couple.

Somewhere in this forum a similar question was asked a few months ago.
I know that the op had several valid answers from experienced Broads users and that warnings/experiences were posted regarding dampness, frozen broads, winter beauty etc.
I'm sure that as the day goes on, some of these guys will offer some great advice.
If you cannot say anything nice, best not to say anything.

Last Xmas (2016) we spent on the norfolk broads, Faircraft were the only people hiring we could find and the cost was at a premium. But it was an amazing experience, very different. we had no issue with frozen water or quay headings, but we had very mild weather so consider ourselves very lucky, They only let out a certain number and type of boat so worth getting in early if you want one.
Its very quiet not alot is open but its lovely and you see the area in a new perspective.
It was a treat to us, one off the bucket list so if you fancy it try it we had no regrets and would do it again.
p.s. yes i am still about just busy with work.

On the Southern Broads I believe that Freedom Boats Thorpe Norwich hire all year round but do not permit travel North of Reedham during the period 1st November to 31st March.
A link to their website is Here
