Fishermans bar at burgh castle is running as an all year round pub now, much better than the last bunch runing it, well worth a visit.

Are the moorings available now, as I thought they had been closed for a while ??

I cruise on THE NORFOLK BROAD as I can not cruise on something that is NOT.

Not sure if the BA moorings are open, I tend to use them anyway and look at it as a wild mooring.
Fishermans has it's own mooring that is open, good fenders needed though.

We ate there this evening. Good value Pub Grub. I had the home made steak pie and Jan had the roasted vegetable lasagne.. both very nice.
Cheerful friendly atmosphere.

I noticed when passing last week, that the ex-BA moorings are now signposted as being free for Fishermans Inn patrons, with the proviso that you moor there at your own risk. Three boats were moored up there. Which begs the question, how dangerous or not are those moorings? We always used them on our crossings of Breydon, but now use the Berney moorings, which always seem noisier and "bumpier" than the Burgh Castle ones, for some inexplicable reason.

Regards, Ray.

Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

The ex BA moorings are now run by the pub. I don’t know about any danger, but when we moored there a few years ago the only problem was that the water rose above the quay heading at HW which made fendering interesting!
We ate in the pub again last night and had reasonable pub food at good value prices.
The marina is pretty dire though and v. expensive at £20 per night, this does include electricity if you can find a point that works, and shower and ,laundry facilities up at the caravan park. The latter took a bit of hassle to discover. Thanks to Joe at the Fisherman’s who was helpful in getting us sorted.
