Good time |
Moored here over night, we were lucky there was plenty of space right outside. Inside was pleasant lovely fire and friendly staff. |
Mooring
Description : |
moorings OK outside of the pub (there's a charge but redeemable against food) and plenty of free moorings further along the river. There are are BA mooring but the moorings had no electricity it looks like all electricity post are being replaced, this seem to be a current theme around the broads as the same at Ranworth and Horning.
Finally beware of the whirlpools directly outside the pub which can catch you out at either high and low tides. i would recommend that you turn either further up or down steam according to the state of the tide.

Three of us had different meals which were a hearty portions and very tasty. The only downside was they ran out of custard, but was substituted by excellent "apple and cinnamon ice cream"

Terrible customer service |
Service here is terrible. We waited an hour and a half for meals on Tuesday night without anyone bothering to tell us there would be a delay. I had to ask a number of times how long the wait would be as we had a 5 year old with us who was getting very hungry The place wasn't even full so I dread to think what it would be like if it was. It was only after I asked that the food was actually put into cook. They had ample opportunity to tell us of a delay either when we ordered or when they saw that our order hadn't gone out after a long time but nothing! The snotty woman behind the bar (based on other online reviews, I think she might be the landlady) seemed amazed that after an hour and a quarter we questioned how much longer the wait would be. We were given empty salt pots and when the meal did finally arrive it did not justify the extortionate prices. Burger and fries with no garnish - even a slice of cucumber, tomato and a bit of lettuce would have made it more presentable! Then to add insult to injury when we were paying the bill this same snotty woman called me a liar when I said there had been over an hour and half wait, she took the payment at our table but said that our change would be left on the bar! A lesson in customer service is definately needed here. If this were your first impression of the Norfolk Broads (as it is for most holidaymakers) you would never holiday there again. We have our own boat so are regulars to the area so know that she is the exception but never again will be go to that pub again. Avoid it like the plague! |

Stopped at The Ferry at Stokesby on Friday lunchtime, loads of moorings right outside. Proceeded to the bar and grabbed a menu and ordered a baked potato with cheese and bacon. I was then greeted with one of my pet hates “what’s your table number”. Now as I have just arrived and probably been too keen to look at the tables to see if they have a number on them, I am now faced with the proposition of leaving the bar, going outside and finding a vacant table. I know full well that as soon as I round the corner for the door a family of parents, grandparents, children, cousins, uncles, aunts et al will occupy the table I have just chosen. So I began to think I say to the lady behind the bar “how about that one” while pointing out of the window, “they keep moving them around, I don’t know what the number is” came the reply. So out I trudge get the table number and pay for the food and drink. The baked potato was lovely and a small salad garnish was also on the side. It did take a while to arrive but as there were a few people waiting I will give them the benefit of the doubt. So often it could be inferred by a less charitable person than I that a few establishments utilise the two drink rule where your food never arrives before you have finished the first drink and ordered the second. So I would say a thumb’s up for the Ferry at Stokesby. |

Plentiful supply of wholesome food |
At 6.45pm on Saturday 16th July my wife, son and his girlfriend called in the Ferry Inn for a couple of drinks and a meal.
The food was plentiful, tasty and good value. Would highly recommend a visit. |
Mooring
Description : |
We managed to moor directly outside the pub which has moorings for 3 large craft and downstream is available moorings for around 8 craft, whilst the local green up stream has moorings for around 4 craft. All in good condition and in close proximity to this excellent pub
|
Food Description
: |
We decided we would have main courses followed by desert, but no deserts were purchased as the mains were so plentiful and delicious. My wife and I ordered the fish and chips which was described as large. They were not wrong and the fish came with some home made rustic chips. My son and his girlfriend ordered the Burger and chips and again the portions were huge and the burgers were described as melt in your mouth delicious. The burgers came with salad and a large quantity of french fries. We ordered 2 pints and a half of lager, a orange juice and the above meals which came to a reasonable £46 for the 4 of us.

Excellent ! |
Perfectly located waiting for the tide down river or coming with the tide up river, this is a place to enjoy good food and drink with moorings that are allright, but tend to be crowded - for above given reasons. |
Mooring
Description : |
2-3 moorings at the pub itself, busy.
More moorings directly adjacent privatly looked after by a farm, 5 L overnight after 5 pm, some difficult to get your lines fixed (had to use a hook to get the boat moored properly).
Public mooring (Stokesby Green) 3 minutes away, but only 2-3 craft max. again.

Food Description
: |
I just had some typical bar food (Scampi and Chips, I think) - very nice with a glass of white wine. Service very forthcoming and friendly. Nothing to complain, much to enjoy as it was an early evening in bright sunshine and the chance to sit outside by the river, enjoying a smoke after the meal.

We visited this place for a drink or two recently and we ended up having a few games of pool. The pool table is located inside a separate room, which also includes a dartboard, a fruit machine and a TV - ideal or what. |

Just about managed to get a mooring space as there were few spaces left at 5pm. Some boats/yachts had to double moor and others had to turn back towards the Stracey Arms as there was no room at the Inn!

Very good |
Moored up at the farm moorings - public moorings full and we didn't know about phoning ahead for the reserved moorings outside the pub. Having said that the pub moorings were empty so the landlord could have done us a favour I suppose by asking if we'd already paid (a fiver by the way). Pub good and staff very welcoming and friendly. Games room with pool table and a large family room. High chair and booster seat provided for the little ones in our group. |

Food and ale very nice indeed. Breakfast not served at this time of the year (October) but a little general store-cum-souvenier shop just around the corner (one and a half minutes walk)
does a good freshly cooked all-day breakfast.

Excellent Pub! |
This place is one of my favourite stops on the Broads and, over the last couple of years, we have always had consistently good meals which are very well priced. It's an Adnams pub and I have never had a bad pint in here yet, the Adnams Old ale is particularly worth trying but only available during the Autumn and winter months. |

We had a meal on 22nd May 2007 and, yet again were not disappointed! Good well priced menu and the best vegetarian meals I have found on the Broads so far. The wild rice, spinach and nut roast (£7.25) was superb!

A recommended stopover |
This is an excellent stop off point enroute or from the Great Yarmouth area.
It has a shower room, seating outside, dining facilities (although we didnt utilise them on this occasion). It sells Adnams and Whitbread bitter, has a pool and darts room and welcomed our 3 dogs outside without problem.
There is ample area to walk your dogs as there is an open field beside the pub and a short walk away is a grocery, gift shop and tea room.
We would certainly recommend this place for a stop.

They are good safe moorings, but by God do they fill up quickly! We got the last space on our first night at just 17:30 and lasy night (Friday) had to shoe-horn our way into one of two. There is a £5 charge made by Glebe Farm for their moorings, which comprise about 80% of those available.

Excellent. Never before have i had two steaks in succession cooked exactly to my liking.....blue. The rump won due to it being incredibly bloody and juicy, but the ribeye was the better for taste. great sized portions and Lizzie eulogised over her wild mushroom lasagne and smoked trout Florentine.
