Very busy, but easy to see why! |
We visited this restaurant while on a recent holiday to the Broads. We found it to be quite busy both inside and outside with customers clearly enjoying the excellent Friday evening weather. We arrived at 7pm to find the main car park nearly full and most of the tables were either taken or reserved. Thankfully we managed to find a table in the corner before ordering our drinks and food. After looking at the menu, we passed on the starter and our food review can be seen below. We also passed on a dessert as we were too full to take any more! It's always a good sign to see a restaurant look busy and with the quality of food on show, we will probably be making a return visit the next time we are on the Broads. |
Mooring

Mainly private moorings only, but there are usually a few spaces near a place called 'Shop' which is about 10 minutes walk away from the restaurant.

Cod, Chips and Peas: I thoroughly enjoyed this dish despite finding quite a few bones in the fish. The batter was slightly crispy, but at the same time light and fresh. The chips weren't the greatest but they were OK.
Fish Fingers, Chips and Beans: This got the thumbs up from my sister as it was quickly consumed with delight.
Lasagne, Chips and Beans: My mum decided to sample a kids meal and found the lasagne to be perfectly fresh and well-cooked.
Pork Steak Rump: My dad said that this was delicious with the exception of the mushrooms which were very dry (he doesn't like dry mushrooms, by the way!).

Fair Deal |
This is a very much what you see is what you get pub. Service is friendly and efficient. Woodforde's is good. Food is not Egon Ronay (and I'm sure it's not intended to be) but is freshly cooked, plentiful and tasty. An ideal refreshment stop after an expedition to Bugdens or while waiting for your boat. (both in our case). Recommended. |
