3 star hotel

Just returned from a four night stay at this hotel. Room excellent overlooking the river. Staff were polite, friendly and welcoming, and all gave us good service. We will return later in the year.

Mooring Description :
Short mooring, maybe 30/40ft in front of the hotel.
Food Description :
Had all our meals there and all were well prepared and well presented. However the menu is somewhat limited, and the same food is served in both the bar area and the restaurant.

Well worth a visit

Totally refurbished hotel with a large bar and restaurant. Superb views on a quiet piece of river (upstream of Beccles Bridge). Beer is excellent and at normal prices. Not really geared up for boat visits. Picture shows Green Wyvern yachts at Whitsun weekend!

Mooring Description :
We managed to get 5 yachts moored (by prior arrangement) but most of the mooring has a high wall and no ladder. At low water the drop is considerable (our lifting roof was 6ft below the wall) and not suitable for children. The lower part of the mooring is better, but still with a drop. There is also Beccles Bridge to negotiate (6ft 6in at AHW) so it may be better to moor at Beccles Yacht Station and walk (10 mins).
Food Description :
Did not eat there but the prices were above average
