Good Beer, but characterless "chain" style eatery

Dropped in for a Saturday evening pint. Good friendly service, and good beer, not too expensive. Sat outside in pleasant garden by river. Pub is very much a standard corporate eatery, generally clean and smart, but some tables had not been cleared.

Food Description :
poor choice that night unless you wanted chips chips and more chips ( how can you run out of baked potatoes at 4pm when roys is only across the road) lack luster staff that dont want to be there and that have no idea of what beers or wines that they sell. very kid friendly as i saw one little girls amazed by the sticking noise as she walked around..

Finally a nice place to stop

We were at the Hotel Wroxham on business and soon wanted to escape. Very over priced My husbands pint of stella was £3.30! Our friends ale was around £3 per pint. These prices are more that our local in central London. The decor appeared extremely dated and worn. When I asked where the coffee came from I was told "from the machine" the coffee comes with those horrible individual serving fake cream pots. tasted like it had been stewing away all day. after Our meeting we explored Roys at Wroxham and thought the whole place was in a bit of decline and needs smartening up a bit. That was until we went to the KIngs Head. It must of had a makeover very recently as the photo on this web site is different the pub was spotless and girls the toilets are clean!! I asked again about the coffee and was told by a polite young girl that the coffee tea and sugar are all Fair Trade. The coffee beans were actually ground in front of me. I was given a small jug of freah milk. My husband had a stella again this time 25p cheaper a pint than the Hotel Wroxham. Our friend had a local pint of Norfolk beer Wherry which he said was cracking. The bar Manager allowed him to try it before he bought it and told him there in the good beer guide too. Were actually in the pub right now using their free internet to write this review as none of can really fault it apart from the canned and bland music although as a saviour it is on very quiet. Think were going to stop here for dinner too as the table next to us are eating and there food looks good and we haven't heard a grumble yet either.

Mooring Description :
We haven't got a boat but for this review we asked the bar manager and were told that parking and mooring is free as long as you use the pub
Food Description :
I started talking the table next to us who had eaten moules mariniere. stuffed chicken breast wrapped in pancetta they also had a steak and ale pudding. they said 8 out of 10. I'm reading the menu as I type and the main courses seem to all be between £7-£10.

Not Very Impressed

Pub used to be very good years ago, but not so these days, food plain not much choice, salad bar seems to be the local fly in, and rooms, well they were not to bad apart from walls very thin and ajoining doors so you can imagine the noise! Not a very good nights sleep had so my advice would be to go somewhere else.

Mooring Description :
ok if you can get under the bridge, but expensive
Food Description :
plain, not much choice, not always hot enough

bar staff just going through the motions, beer not kept right. after 40 mins of waiting for food was told it had been left warming at the carvery,we were not told about this as the rest of our group had been waited on so we expected this also

Mooring Description :
sited in a good area, alongside river looks the bees knees
Food Description :
the meals were a good size but because they were cold it spoiled them. fairly basic menu,no home cooked food

Not Acceptable!

Even worse than a typical chain pub! Staffed by morons who have failed to grasp the basic concept of customer service. Food verging on the dreadful. Sadly, its location will always guarantee custom. Wroxham needs some decent competition.

Mooring Description :
Limited pub moorings. Extensive adjacent stern on moorings with further linear moorings at Hoveton Viaduct. All convenient for the delights of Wroxham!
Food Description :
Decent pub food is at a premium in Wroxham so although abysmal it's hardly surprising. Arguably the worst carvery I've ever encountered with lukewarm food, feeble portions & ignorant service.

Nice Pub, Shame About The Beer

Bewers Fayre. Ideal location on the riverside immediately above Wroxham Bridge. Nice building which has been tastefully decorated and enjoys a non smoking area. Pleaseant if unimaginative riverside terrace. Beer was truly lamentable however, no local ales, the only two real ales on offer being Marstons and Bombadier, the latter slightly preferable but both indicated that no-one here really knows how to keep beer. Staff were pleasant and efficient when I vistited. Quiz night on Tuesdays.

Mooring Description :
Good moorings at the pub but there is a charge, Hoveton St John BA moorings are immediately adjacent, very good, free and offer a shore power post. Both are stern on. If full or your prefer to moor alongside then Hoveton Viaduct is 5 minutes walk away. High score in this area is earned by the free moorings, rather than the pubs own
Food Description :
Being Brewers Fayre there are good deals on food, main courses average 7.50 with a limited selection in addition to a carvery every day. Buy 2 for £10 or for OAP's the Diamond Club offers carvery plus either starter or sweet for 5.95 Carvery was half decent, other choices were bland and distinctly boil in the bag looking.

Not a nice place

Intensely ignorant pretty-boy who seemd to think i'd walked in something unfortunate, by the look on his face. His colleague, a bored looking female, was possibly even more surly. I urge you to find somewhere is unfriendly and expensive.

Mooring Description :
They charge £4.50 for a mooring which seems steep if you're eating there as well. Infinitely preferable are the free moorings opposite Bridge Broad, just five minutes away.
Food Description :
Didn't eat there, but it looked mundane, overly saladed and poorly presented.
