They really should change the description of this boat or sell it off completely! Easter weekend 2006. The hull and superstructure are scarred, particularly the roof. Understandable as at 8'6" it only just clears Ludham at low water and you are almost level with the car drivers at Potter! The interior is dark stained wood, unfashionable formica and aging velour. Good wide interior with spacious galley (not much worksurface but thats normal). The single cabin is ridiculous and I would hesitate to even put a child in the shelf / bunk. Same thing with the single bunk in the rear cabin. The rear cabin is spacious and en suite with a comfortable bed. Equally the front cabin provides two good singles with touching feet. The best part of this boat is that it handles superbly. I took it right up to the end of Stalham Staithe and also into the last remaining spot at Neatishead and it glided in without touching a single fender. The bow thruster is effective and the steering was good. Having said this we didn't use the inside helm at all. The helmsman's seat at both position was broken and uncomfortable. There is no screen up top so you will get the wind hitting you full on. All the advertising states that it has a CD/Radio. IT DOES NOT! It has an old Panasonic Radio /Cassette and when I complained the guy said "Some of them have only just got radios" I had a bad experience with the toilets. The previous hirers were late in and I think they rushed the turn round. Our toilet was faulty and backed up leaving a pan full of sewage 5 minutes after you pump it. Most unpleasant and the engineer tried his best and suggested we get a pump out. Ludham Bridge Services did a sterling job but despite fixing the rear toilet, obviously it hadn't been emptied before handover,he ended up with a blocked machine trying to clear our toilet. A collapsed pipe or faulty valve was the prognosis with no quick cure. It's the beginning of the season! More attention to detail please Barnes Brinkcraft! Just to finish off there is NO Cigar lighter so nowhere to charge phones or cameras. All in all this would be a fantastic craft refitted and in private hands but on Barnes Brinkcraft,s Hire Fleet it is a disgrace and lets down the company. 2/10
