You can watch the full boat review and extended day by day Blog of this boat over at and search ‘Brinks Omega’. Brinks Omega is a very spacious sedan type cruiser ideal for a couple, but able to sleep 4. The sleeping accommodation is a little different, with the two forward ‘V’ berths making up to a ‘single and a half’ sized double. In short, the insert between the berths is half sized and does not completely fill the space – the double berth that makes up in the salon, again because of the shape of the seating is not a full width double. Very nice outside space when you can seat four and take the folding table out for ‘alfresco dining’. Very light an airy interior, great storage space, full size fridge run on 24v power too – separate shower compartment to heads keeps shower spray off toilet and sink. High freeboard a helm seat that is either too low to reach the foot rest or to see out properly then too high and feet left to dangle are the only cons to this boat. Very responsive 50hp Nanni engine, great light steering and lots of windows and sunshine roof mean ventilation and light get in. Powerful warm air heater with temperature control for the cooler months.

Had a week on the omega last year 2011 , great cruiser , easy to handle with ample power , stern on mooring is a doddle due to the uninterupted view through the patio doors, The raised cabin is a bonus too giving a better all round view.

we hired this boat in 2004, she is a classy vessel, much like a mini gin palace inside, and has quite a bit of power in her engines too, as we discovered crossing breydon in some choppy weather. although advertised as suitable for up to 4 persons, she is really only a 2 berth, they only disadvantage is the berths are quite high up off the floor, and this may cause a problem for someone with a disability. likewise she is not the easiest of boats to board externally, with quite high sides to negotiate when mooring. the rear bathing platform can be very slippery when wet, and care is needed when boarding stern on, also the width of the platform can take the boat deck some distance away from the quay heading, which at low tide means quite a drop down onto it in order to board. handleing is good, visablity excellent with rear patio type doors, galley small but functional. good sized heads with cubicle type shower. a nice boat for an active couple, but not suitable for anyone less mobile.
