MD is a lovely boat that draws admiring glances wherever you go. Being the Moonfleet version of the Carousel class it has a few added extras and improvements. Although I'm not generally a fan of cheat buttons like electric canopies, bow thrusters and stern thrusters it was nice to have them for a change and did make mooring almost impossible to muck up. Having said that it is worth bearing in mind that they do detract from the propulsion power quite considerably. The boat as a whole, in my opinion, is under powered, but great for just pootling around. Although we didn't go South I would worry about how it would deal with an adverse tide.
The interior of the boat is beautiful, both permanent beds are large and very comfy. The living space is generous and sociable. The helm seat rotates and slides to allow it to be used more comfortably when moored. The separate dining area is a great touch and means that everything is that bit more spacious than the Broadsman version. The saloon seating makes up into a huge, very comfortable bed (the additional cushions are hidden under the seating), in fact we left it up much of the time as it provided a great sun pad for catching the rays and lazing around on all week. There is an incredible amount of storage throughout the boat, to the point that we often forgot which cupboard things were stashed in.
The aft head was snug and I'd recommend using the fwd shower if possible as it gives much more room. The showers are amazing, lots better than many domestic units. Beware the fresh water flush on the toilets though, it will drain the fresh tank and fill the toilet tank very quickly. Use the fill button sparingly.
Overall a great boat!
