Pacific Star - Great Boat! (1st off) Just back from a week aboard Pacific Star and can report its a great boat! We had 6 on board and it was perfect for our party. Really nice to handle and did everything we asked of it. Star is a centre cockpit cruiser and has a great elevated driving position and cockpit with a slide down canopy (roof) which has the added bonus of being all electric (so no nasty handles to winch or bash into) roof goes up and down effortlessly. Star has a nice Nanni engine and as soon as we fired it up commented how quiet it was with the engine outside at the back, which makes a real difference.
Inside star has all mod cons, bow thruster, electric canopy (real plus point) 240v power (nice big inverter) thermostatically controlled heating (so it maintains a constant heat) microwave, shore power.
Other plus points are big water tanks which are a bonus with a larger party. and a fixed tv aerial so no messing about with those pesky suckers.
Outside star looks the part and is as with all pacific craft really well kept, considering we had her out last weekend of the season she still looked great, nice wide decks are a great asset, really nice aft space with plenty of room when mooring or just relaxing, lots of grab handles etc, also the fore pulpit rail which again was a added bonus.
Nice Nanni engine is quiet and economic and can deliver a punch if needed and gave us not one issue or concern, handling wise star was a breeze to handle for a larger boat and with hydraulic bow thruster a breeze to turn in the tightest of spots. Helm was raised so visability is really good.
Inside star is home from home great soft furnishings, nice finish everywhere, nice galley area with plenty of space and storage, nice cooker and fridge all you could ask for.
From the front back star features the front cabin with en-suite bathroom, the front cabin is very spacious and very homely, front double bed very comfortable (seems pacifics beds are comfy) with plenty of storage, the en-suite bathroom for a boat was big, loads of room.
then into the saloon / helm / seating area, nice big U shaped seating area that was huge and really comfy and also converted into a bed, ample seating and being elevated provided great views. With the roof up due to the lovely big windows the saloon feels very airy and bright very spacious and homely. There is a door in the canopy that i found very handy to just hop out of which is another good feature. The helm has great all round visability roof up or down, controls are all very simple. behind the helm are steps to the canopy door then behind that the cabinet with a flat screen TV/DVD and microwave on with ample storage underneath.
Then down steps into the galley (along the length of the boat) opposite this is the other bathroom / shower, again great size for a boat (compared to most) then along the corridor is bedroom 2 which we had as 2 single berths (good size) then into the rear cabin / bedroom which featured another bed which we had as a double. great size lovely big airy room.
Star was / is a great boat and I would recommend it to anyone.
Finally and because to me it matters the yard Pacific cruisers are top notch! I cannot recommend them enough and i do. I think testamount enough is ive had 7 weeks afloat in 2013 all with pacific and ive 4 weeks already booked for 2014!
Ive tried the other yards some good some bad some dreadful, now i go to the one I want to go to who to me go above and beyond, I speak to those on other pacific boats they to have nothing but praise. Even if you dont book star give pacific a try.
No infact dont go to pacific as they wont have space for me!!
