Just come back after hiring Pacific Shadow From Pacific Cruisers at Loddon. Outstanding service from this brilliant yard who offer absolutely outstanding service. From my experience you cannot go wrong with Pacific outstanding service and an excellent range of boats. You feel like a valid customer so very refreshing. To the boat Shadow is a bathtub and at 6Ft 6" draft will get everywhere you need with no issue. The design is excellent, nice wide decks, front and rear access so great for mooring up. The boat handles really well and presented no issues during our stay, as with all Pacific boats spotlessly clean. Shadow sleeps upto 6 and all the beds are very comfy indeed, I used the centre cabin with an an-suite bathroom / toilet / shower this was very comfy and provided a great nights sleep, The toilet and shower provided plenty of space (unlike most hire boats) the back bedroom was again excellent this again had an en-suite bathroom this was bigger still and was mainly used by us as a shower room as it was a generous size. The front cabin / saloon provided excellent use of space with a pull out double bed that again was very comfy. The saloon had plenty of space for the party and was comfortable and welcoming, above was a large sunroof plus sliding side windows giving plenty of ventilation. The front well is a rear asset on these style boats. The kitchen is down the side (length) of the boat and provides loads of workspace and storage space, everything you could need is readily available. The engine is inside but wasnt noisy even though it was a BMC unit, It certainly wasnt a distraction. Heating worked a treat and also features an inverter which of course comes in very handy. Shadow is an excellent choice and heartily recommended by our party. Shadow did all we asked of it, and went everywhere we wanted, handled really well in all conditions, Was warm and cosey even on cold nights. So yes I would go with Shadow but I would definatly without question go back to Pacific! Richard and Fiona are a credit to themselves and the broads and the hire industry, many other operators should take a leaf out of their book.

We hired Pacific Shadow in September 2008. Although near the end of the season the boat was spotlessly clean and obviously lovingly cared for and maintained. Although not in the first flush of youth, it performed nicely, was economical on fuel, left little wash and was easy to handle. Although the evenings were cool the boat was very snug and we had to make very little use of the excellent heating. For four people this boat is excellent value for money and can be highly recommended. Geoff Pethick, Johannesburg
